Anderlecht
In Aril 2012, Hawsawi joined Anderlecht, signing a two-year deal, becoming the only member of the Saudi Arabia national team to play in Europe at the time. He made his debut for the club in a 1-1 draw with OH Leuven on 25th August 2012.

In November 2012, Hawsawi left Belgium and returned to his native country and joined Al-Ahli for a reported transfer fee of $1.5 million.
Al-Hilal
